Within This Cage

 

Within this cage is an entity, an entity longing for a way out.

Within this cage is an entity, an entity that wonders why I carry it about.

Within this cage is an entity, an entity that’s forever attached to my side.

Within this cage is an entity, an entity that will know the meaning of this crazy ride.  

 

I do no carry you because you are who I am. I carry you because you are who I was.

I do not carry you because I fear you. I carry you because I hope for myself.

I do not carry you because you are dark. I carry you because I am light.

I do not carry you because you are the driver of my failures. I carry you because you are a witness to my success.  

 

I do not carry you because you are all I have. I carry you because I am all I need.

I do not carry you because you are my prisoner. I carry you because you are my motivator.

I do not carry you because you are where I am. I carry you because you are a reminder of where I no longer want to be.  

 

So sit back, relax, and please enjoy the ride.
