"Bright Black" is an exploration of American black identity by printmaker Jamaal Barber. Woodcuts and mixed media work touch on the complex experiences, set backs and triumphs, that shape the African American experience.
So this talented printmaking specimen is FINALLY coming with that heat! Jamaal Barber presents his first ever solo exhibit at Southwest Arts Center, January 26, 2018 *2 days after my birthday I might add ;)* The opening reception will be held from 6-9 pm.
THEN on February 10, 2018 Jamaal will be sharing his talent with a print demo with Atlanta Relief Carvers United from 10am-1pm. Shortly after the demo an artist talk will be held from 1-3pm. For all you out of towners the artist talk will be streamed live!
So I'm super excited to see the brilliance that Jamaal has in store and of course a show recap will be coming shortly after. Make sure ya'll be there or be square! *or oval, triangle, whatever shape you prefer to be lol*

Peace and blessings,
Shon
